How to Play Baccarat Online – Rules & Terms

The various versions of baccarat all feature the same basic rules. You bet on the hand that you believe will win (banker or player), or the tie. In order for a hand to become a winner, it needs to be close to a score of 9 as possible.

Cards from 2-9 carry the same face value, with the 10, J, Q and K all scoring 0. An Ace is worth 1.

Should your hand go over 9, then you eliminate the first digit. So if you hand consists of a 6 and a 7 = 13, you dismiss the 1 and are left with a hand total of 3.

Two cards are dealt to the player side of the table and to the banker’s side. If the total of either of those hands is 8 or 9, then no further hands are dealt. If either hand has a scored between 0-5, then a third card is dealt. After this, the scores are worked out and the hand closer to 9 is the winner. All bets on the hands are then settled.
